Love the notebook planning idea!  I've got papers here and there but organizing them into one book for home life is a great idea.  I did put together a home notebook with a tab for each room in the house.  There are list of things that need to be done, fixed, or changed.  Even put manuals and warranties in there to keep everything together.  Thanks again for the inspiring ideas!
