I’ve added a new category that will include my decorating projects. I found a wonderful sit called Copy Cat Chic (click here) that had this picture posted. I loved the look and decided to try and copy it for my breakfast area .
I had a brown square table in this area and brown chairs. The table was so big I could not put anything else in there. I had a round table I used in the corner of the living room so I switched the tables and painted the round table black along with the chairs. The book shelves are the $30 kind you get at Walmart but I added trim to the top and sides to make them look a little more upscale. I tried to keep a theme of white, black and clear for the dishes and accessories. I opted for no rug due the the high volume of mess the kids can generated when eating. 
I recovered the chairs with fabric and a light plastic to protect them from spills. The pictures in the frames are from the book Royal Progresses written in 1884. I bought the book for a $1 since is was falling apart. That didn’t bother me because I wanted it for the prints anyway.
I wanted to add just a little bling to the ceiling fan so I got these crystals for $1 each at Michaels.

I love what you did to your breakfast area. It’s very bright and inviting.
